Never having the motivation, I would have to guess what makes a blog. I assume that a blog is an article that is offering an opinion or a point. If the point or reason of the article is not clear then it might be just a misleading paragraph. Standing in the middle of a park lecturing matters might not bring in the crowd I would hope for. Blogs allow the audience to find me and filter the readers that may not like what I write. Writing lets me think more deeply about what I am trying to say. When simply talking about my opinions among friend, sometimes words can become twisted or are too vague. Writing down my thoughts I can go back and clear up any hazy comments. It is always a dread for me that my writing can be confusing or senseless. Publishing a blog might be relief or a disappointment. But it is a way to find out how I can become clearer and develop into a better writer.
